WHAT IS THE JOB REFERRAL & PLACEMENT SERVICE?

The Job Referral and Placement Service is designed to assist those in the general population who are looking to find employment.

WHO ADMINISTERS THE SERVICE?

The Job Referral and Placement Service is administered by the Ministry through the AELM division.

THE PROCESS

1. The AELM Division keeps a record of job seekers who register with the Ministry
2. The Ministry then refers these jobseekers (who meet the correct criteria) to employers who have vacancies within their place of work. (The referral process only takes place when employers contact the Ministry with information on vacancies in their respective companies)
3. Placement of jobseekers from the registry occurs when employers accept the referred jobseeker after interviews or other evaluation methods used by each respective employer

Registering in the service is free of charge

OTHER SERVICES

CV's and Job Applications:

• The Ministry offers assistance in compiling curriculum vitae (CV's) and the writing of job applications for jobseekers who seek such assistance. This is also a free service. Please contact the Apprenticeship, Employment and Labour Market Division for more information about this service.

• The Apprenticeship, Employment and Labour Market Division conduct an annual job search skills workshop for those who wish to further their knowledge on finding employment. Please contact the Apprenticeship, Employment and Labour Market Division for details about the workshops.
• The industry awareness is done on a yearly basis
  * This helps school leavers to be prepared about of what kind of jobs and the different industry sectors which are there in the workforce.
  * Allows Year12 & 13 students to expose their knowledge of the types of jobs to get with different sorts of course fields they study.
