WEBSITE PURPOSE

The purpose of this website is to provide an information portal not only for the foreign investor, but also for the local populace, about the services provided under the umbrella of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour.
This website is designed to be a resource centre for those seeking information about Samoa in terms of investment, labour markets, intellectual property rights, consumer rights, occupational safety and health, patents and copyrights, and many other services administered by MCIL.

 

SITE SETTINGS

  • Netscape Navigator 6.0 or higher
  • Some pages of this site requires Java Script. Macintosh computers require Macintosh Runtime for Java version 2.2.4 or higher
For optimal viewing of this website, please ensure:
  • A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768
  • The number of colours on screen set to High Colour (16 bit) or higher
  • Use the scroll bars at the right hand side of the web browser to view additional information
  • If you are using dial-up access, a 56kb modem is preferred
Important Note: This website was not designed to be viewed using Mozilla Firefox. Page layout and some text formats will not display correctly using Mozilla browsers.

 

INSTALL ACROBAT READER

This website contains Portable Document Format (PDF) documents that require the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print.
Acrobat Reader is free application software which is available to download from Adobe Systems.
PDF files are an open worldwide standard for online electronic document distribution.

To download Acrobat Reader onto your PC, please follow the below steps:
  1. Select the following link to go to the download section on the Adobe website www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep2.html, or you can also click on the Get Acrobat Reader button above
  2. Once at Adobe's download page, follow the detailed instructions. You will be prompted to enter your operating system, as well as country, which language version of Adobe Acrobat you want to download, and other required information
  3. Click the Download button. A 'File Download' window will appear
  4. Choose the Save to Disk option
  5. Select the location you would like to save the program to, then click Save. It is very important to remember both the filename and the location you are saving the file to, as you will need to locate it in order to complete the installation
  6. The program will automatically begin downloading to your computer. Depending on your operating system and the speed of your Internet connection, it will take between 20-30 minutes to download the file
  7. After the program has downloaded, close your web browser. Locate the folder you downloaded Adobe Acrobat to, then open the folder and double-click the file. This will begin the Acrobat Reader setup process, which will guide you through the rest of the installation
Downloading a PDF document from the MCIL website

To save a copy of any PDF files from this website onto your PC for offline viewing or printing:

  • Windows users must right-click the web link and choose the menu item Save Target As... to save it to your desktop
  • Macintosh users must hold down the option key and click on the web link to save it to the desktop.
Additional Information

Once you've installed Acrobat Reader on your system, the program will automatically start whenever you attempt to download a PDF file from a website. The program will also start up anytime you double-click a PDF file located on your hard drive.
