Hon. Minister Fata Ryan Schuster Undertakes Key Trade and Labour Engagements Abroad as WIPO General Assemblies Near Conclusion

As the 68th WIPO General Assemblies near conclusion, Samoa's Minister Fata Ryan Schuster departs Geneva for trade and labour engagements in New Zealand - strengthening labour mobility partnerships for Samoan workers - while the delegation concludes its WIPO work in Geneva.

Geneva, Switzerland, 13 July 2026 — The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour wishes to advise that the Honourable Minister, Fata Ryan Schuster, departs Geneva, Switzerland today to attend a Trade Ministerial Meeting in Auckland, New Zealand later this week. Following the Ministerial, the Honourable Fata will undertake a series of Labour Employment Export Programme visits in Wellington and the South Island next week, strengthening Samoa's labour mobility partnerships and advancing opportunities for Samoan workers abroad.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Samoa delegation will continue attending the Sixty-Eighth Series of Meetings of the WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva, which will conclude on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. Samoa's participation reflects the Government's ongoing commitment to international cooperation in intellectual property, trade, and labour development.

On Sunday, 12 July 2026, Ambassador Toleafoa and members of the Samoan community in Geneva hosted a special church service and toonai at the Ambassador's residence. The gathering offered prayers and support for the Minister's upcoming engagements and for the continued success of Samoa's representation abroad.
