Public holidays calendar

We publish Samoa's public holidays each year under the Public Holidays Act 2008. The cards below show the gazetted date, the day of the week on which the holiday falls, and the Monday observance where a gazetted date falls on a Sunday.

What a public holiday means

• Government offices are closed on gazetted public holiday dates and on the Monday observance where the gazetted date falls on a Sunday.
• Banks, the Central Bank of Samoa, and most private businesses observe the same dates.
• Workplace pay and leave entitlements on public holidays are governed by the Labour and Employment Relations Act 2013. See Employment services for details on holiday pay rates and leave provisions.
